Singapore consumers lose up to $580 million a year to hidden bank fees and poor exchange rates when sending money overseas, yet many don’t realise how much they’re overpaying.

To spotlight this, Wise tapped into the local term “Chopped Carrot Head,” slang for someone who’s easily ripped off. A giant carrot-themed pop-up stall was set up in a mall, inviting passersby to pluck, weigh, and chop carrots, a playful metaphor for how their money gets shaved off through hidden costs.

The “Chopped Carrot Head Stall” experience guided participants through three interactive stations, each revealing the true cost of traditional transfers, educating them about Wise, and rewarding them with stamps for a chance to win exclusive merch including a quirky carrot hat and a specially crafted carrot juice.

We also created our very own “Chop Chop Carrot Head” game, where participants race against the clock to chop as many carrots as they can in 30 seconds using motion-detection sensors, using only their hands. The top scorer each day wins a free flight ticket.

Before the actual set was built, I created a series of 3D renders to visualise the “Chopped Carrot Head” stall which allowed us to experiment with materials, colours, lighting, and scale early on, ensuring the playful, eye-catching concept translated well in a real-world mall environment.

The renders also helped us refine the layout and test how participants would move through each station, making it easier to spot issues and communicate the idea before production.
